Meet the Maxwell, our take on the old school quilted gilet. A smart, versatile and practical layer, designed for days in the field, afternoons at the point-to-point and everything in between. Soft quilted tweed is finished with premium suede piping. An adjustable back lets you tailor it to your perfect fit, and a flattering curved hem and classic G&G stand up collar complete the look.
Crafted from a beautiful green tweed by Lovat Mill, known as the Home of Tweed, the Maxwell's cloth is woven from British wool in the heart of the Scottish Borders, just down the road from where Becs is based.
Lovat Mill is renowned for its rich, blended colours inspired by the surrounding landscape. This soft, durable and breathable tweed only gets better with age, giving the gilet a true heritage feel that's made for days spent outdoors.
Wear it over a shirt or knit for warmth without the bulk, or under a coat when the weather turns. Ideal for a country walk, yet smart enough to take you straight on to lunch, it's a wardrobe staple you'll reach for again and again.
