Marina Gibson is a trailblazer for women in the sport of fishing.
Renowned instructor, guide, and conservationist, Marina teaches the art of fly fishing at the Northern Fishing School in North Yorkshire, which she founded in 2019. She also manages the salmon fishing at Bywell Salmon Fishing on the River Tyne and co-founded The Cancer and Pisces Trust, a charity that offers free fly fishing lessons to those affected by cancer.

Marina is a modern-day advocate for country and sporting traditions, dedicated to promoting the modern benefits of this traditional pastime and encouraging others to experience the freedom of the great outdoors.
Amongst her many roles, Marina serves as a Trustee and Advisory for River Action UK, working to combat the threat to the fishing industry from water pollution.
At G&G we share Marina’s commitment to preserving country and sporting traditions, and promoting the important role they play in modern society. We first met Marina through our mutual support of the Atlantic Salmon Trust, working with her for the launch of our exclusive G&G Salmon needlepoint belt, from which 15% of sales are donated to the Trust’s efforts to protect wild salmon and sea trout.
